Just yesterday I was walking on the main shopping street of Barcelona, Passeig de Gracia, and I noticed a new store. Maybe not new to the street, but surely new to me. The store in question was COS. And of course upon seeing this new store, I popped in to take a closer look. I’m curious when it comes to new stores. So I usually enter to investigate, ask questions and basically do a bit of leg work in order to be a bit more informed of my local stores.
I saw a few things that I really liked. And usually when I like something, I tend to read a bit about the brand and the concepts and philosophy behind it. So when I got back to my desk, I searched online to find some useful info to get a clearer picture of what the brand’s all about. And to my huge surprised, I found out that COS is actually a new luxury brand of H&M.
I was surprised, to say the least. Truthfully speaking, I am not a big fan of H&M or their collections. But what surprised me the most was the fact that COS’ collections looked super sleek and stylish. A far cry from high street giant H&M.
As I’m not convinced of H&M, the quality or design of their collections, nor of the concept behind the brand, I think I will have to get a bit more acquainted with COS to warm up to the idea that it’s actually owned by H&M. But as COS is new, at least to me, I think I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps this lux- H&M will provide us with some better quality apparel. At least from the looks of it, COS have some really stylish pieces. I was particularly impressed and captivated by many of their blouses. So I’m keeping an open mind.
For a comparison of their collections, visit their websites and see what you think.
Did you know that COS is owned by H&M? What do you think of the COS collection compared to that of H&M’s? We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for an idea, you sparked that thought from a angle I hadn’t given thought to yet
