Katie Holmes & Jeanne Yang
Katie Holmes, a Hollywood starlet who has starred in various movies and television series, is now very much involved in the fashion business. She is probably best remembered as young Joey Potter in Dawson’s Creek, and more recently as the other half of Tom Cruise. It’s evident that this young actress has achieved a lot in a short period of time, such as starring in a Broadway show, making movies and being a wife and a mother. So when I heard that she started working on a fashion line, I thought, here’s a woman who’s clearly not afraid of new challanges.

Holmes’ stylist Jeanne Yang has been styling Ms Holmes for years. Yang has also worked with celebs like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Brooke Shields, to name but a few. With a look at Yang’s portfolio, her trackrecord looks impressive enough for me to not doubt her skills as a talented stylist. As Ms Holmes’ stylist, she is often credited with “taking Katie from Dawson’s Creek girl-next-door to wise-beyond-her-years fashionista”. I suppose their years of collaboration in creating the Katie Holmes we now know, encouraged the pair to start a joint venture of designing clothes that other women could enjoy as well.
Holmes & Yang Collection
The Holmes & Yang collection is a small collection of luxuriously made basics. Upon seeing some pieces from their collection, my first impression was: Classic pieces with a slight twist. Their collection, which features both women’s and children’s wear, cleverly combines basic feminine pieces with a touch of lux. And the outcome? Clothes that look classy, modern and very ready-to-wear. Based on the success of their line so far, I’m guessing that the duo must be doing something right.
